Members of the appropriately named UK organization, Professional Association of Teachers (PAT), have proposed that the word "fail" should be banned from use in classrooms and replaced with the phrased "deferred success". I kid you not. A spokesman said that the group wanted to avoid labelling children. "We recognize that children do not necessarily acheive success the first time," he said.

"Often children are abject loosers, pitiful specimens of the human race, who are too stupid to realize how awful they really are. And to label them as 'failures' would really only scratch the surface and paint an inaccurate picture of the incredible nature of their utter hopelessness."
